Manor Pond
NO CARP TO BE PUT IN KEEPNETS OR CARP SACKS unless Match Fishing.
Quick coupla words on Manor: first day of the season about 17 people fished. Three carp - 15+, 22+, 20 lbs; a few tench, a bag of at least 10 bream to 5+ lbs and some others and various silver fish. Pretty good opening day. It was much quieter yesterday and I haven't heard of any catches but wasn't at the pond after 5.00pm.
12/7/9 - Manor is feeling the aftermath of excessive feeding during the opening days of the new season, so much bait has been dumped into the pond the fish are reluctant to take your bait - slow up on the ground baiting and let them get hungry - the only fish of any note to come out today - 0600h - 1700h was a bream of 5lb the rest was small Rudd & Roach in abundance.
Balls Green Match Lake OPEN During the 'close' season
8/3/09 Small Carp 3lb 3oz and plenty of Rudd, Roach and Perch - very windy conditions.

23/07/09
I thought it might be wise for you to put a message on the website about people being wary of leaving tackle unattended at Padworth. Whilst I was there on thursday someone stole my Drennan Super specialist Barbel rod and Okuma Sheffield centrepin reel.
This happened whilst myself and my cousin wandered downstream to watch my son trotting for silverfish. I spoke to Rob the bailiff who was there fishing with a friend and they had seen the culprit with the rod and reel but obviously did not realise that he had just stolen it. They described him as aged between 40 - 50 and bald which at least makes the youth of today feel better as they cannot be tarnished by this despicable act.
I know this is totally out of character for Padworth because it is normally such a safe environment, but people need to be aware now that if this man has done it once he will possibly return for some more easy pickings.
On a lighter note, both my cousin and I landed Barbel, one for myself and 2 for him, and my son had some roach and chub trotting and using the block end feeder. Dean.
8/7/9 Ken Menet: having fished most of last season without a fish ive had a great start to the season,as allready reported i had three barbel on the 27th june, i returned to fish the night of the 5th july and from midnight onwards it was non stop action, up untill 4am i had 7 fish and lost 2 with lots of bites in between, really cant wait to get back.
22/07/09: Record Brown Trout (claimed) 8lb 1oz caught by John Lynn (2124) witnessed by Michael Voller (2125) plus Barbel to 8lb+
Michael Voller reported: fished on 27/06-had 4 Barbel and 1 Chub all on pellet.biggest Barbel 9lb 12oz and another of 9lb 08oz plus 2 smaller ones. Chub was 4lb 08oz. plenty of fish moving once it got dark but hard going in the sun and the heat.
I spent saturday with my friend Ken Menet at Padworth, the fishing was nigh on impossible during the day because of the heat, (still a chance to loaf around in the country though). The fishing switched on nicely after dark with Ken catching 3 barbel biggest 9lb 4oz, everyone else on the fishery caught at least 1 after dark, except yours truly who managed to defy the odds and 'blank'. It was certainly an eyeopener though as to how the fishing changes after dark, I will certainly be back to even the score with those Barbel...Cheers Dean
